Island Place is ideally located just a few blocks from the center of downtown Bar Harbor and one mile from the magnificent Acadia National Park.  You can walk to the Bar Harbor Waterfront and pick up excursions such as Kayaking, Whale Watching and Nature Cruising.  Rent a bicycle (traditional or motorized), play golf at the 8^th oldest golf course in American, Kebo Valley Golf Course, shop at all the great retail stores or pop into a few galleries and museums.  We are also just a few minutes by car or use the free Island Explorer Shuttle Bus to Acadia’s historic Carriage Roads.  The Carriage Roads are available for enjoying hiking, biking, running, leisurely walks and even horse drawn carriage rides.
